Mumbai: With Independence Day less than a week away, online marketplaces Amazon and Flipkart have both launched their respective sales with discounts on a wide variety of products and items.
Close on the heels of Amazon India’s Great Indian Sale from August 9 to 11, rival Flipkart has also launched its Big Freedom Sale as a pre-Independence Day event.
Sellers on the respective websites are offering massive discounts on mobile phones, fashion & lifestyle, large appliances, kitchen & dining, home & furniture.
Mobile phones:
Amazon is offering up to 35 per cent off on certain mobile phone brands including Apple, Lenovo, Blackberry, OnePlus, Samsung, and Motorola. Besides discounts, the online retailer also has exchange offers of up to Rs 17,000 on smartphones.
Flipkart is selling Google’s flagship Pixel at Rs 18,000 lower than its market price. Apart from cash backs, the e-tailer is offering an additional Rs 1,000 on the exchange value of old phones for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Fashion & Lifestyle:
Amazon has up to 80 per cent discount on more than 3 lakh styles from over 1,200 fashion brands, an Economic Times report said.
The sale extends to apparels, footwear, accessories like jewellery, watches and handbags from brands such as Fossil, Arrow, Adidas, Reebok, Wildcraft among others. Similar deals can found on Titan, GAP, Redtape and Clarks, the report added.
Flipkart is offering over 70 per cent off on kids’ clothing and accessories. Additionally, the sale extends to locally-produced garments, Kanjeevaram sarees, Kashmiri shawls and others.
Appliances:
Large appliances like ACs, washing machines and refrigerators are also witnessing discounts on both marketplaces.
Amazon is discounting LG, Blue Star, Samsung and Whirlpool ACs by up to 30 per cent at no Cost EMIs. There is also an exchange offer of up to Rs 6,000 on refrigerators and washing machines.
Flipkart, too, has 30 per cent discounts on televisions. It has also extended warranties on appliances like ACs, microwaves over the price cuts.
