Ryan and Amy Wright love to entertain, and they have just the house for it.

The couple regularly host dinner parties, fundraisers, even cabaret shows in their 7,000-square-foot home in Diamond Ridge at The Point, a gated community on Indy’s southeast side.

The four-bedroom, five-bath house at 6663 Silver Creek Drive sits on a pond and features a 3,000-square-foot stamped concrete patio with fire pit and blooming fountain, perfect for outdoor parties. It’s on the market for $1.2 million.

“It’s an entertaining house for sure,” Amy Wright said. “The whole place is designed around that.”

There are no fewer than four dining areas, including a 16-seat table on the back deck, large formal dining room, casual dining near the kitchen and seating for up to 42 in the finished basement for cabaret nights.

The Wrights bought the 10-year-old home about seven years ago and have spent much of that time updating it to their liking, transforming it from country rustic to European elegant.

That would include the addition of custom crown molding, coffered ceilings, teak hardwood floors, 32 chandeliers, striking mirrors and sculptures throughout.

Just about all of the stylish pieces came from Restoration Hardware, Wright’s go-to store for home decor. The European accents reflect her passion for Paris, where the attorney spends a month every year.

“I’m obsessed with it,” she said, “so I tried to bring as much of that here as I could.”

The commercial-grade chef’s kitchen with its marble and slate finishes is the only room in the home that the couple did not touch. “I fell in love with the kitchen when we bought the house,” she said.

If you’re looking for color, you won’t find it in this house. It’s decorated in shades of gray, black and white, just the way Wright likes it. She envisions the two-story great room with 18-foot ceilings, ornate mirrors and a gas fireplace as the perfect place for an upcoming fundraiser for the Indianapolis Opera.

There are three bedrooms on the second floor, including the master retreat. In the finished walkout basement is a fourth bedroom, along with a second kitchen, exercise room and a media/bourbon room, where dinner guests often end the night. Built-ins house hundreds of bottles of bourbon.

“These shelves used to be filled with wholesome things like books and games and movies,” Wright said with a laugh. “Now it’s filled with bourbon because we’re empty-nesters.”

The Wrights are ready to start from scratch with a new home, but they’re not going far. The couple hope to build on a lot two doors down.

“I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else,” she said of the southeast-side location, which offers convenient access to her Downtown office and shopping. “Life is just better when everything is 10 minutes away.”

Now she wants to start fresh and build something more European. “I want something straight out of Paris.”
