Huawei at MWC 2016 entered the hybrid tablet market with the MateBook. The 2-in-1 convertible laptop runs Windows 10 Pro. The retail price of the MateBook starts at $699 (roughly Rs. 48,000). We got to spend some time with the 2-in-1 at the trade show, and you can check out our initial impressions in the video.

The MateBook has evidently been designed to take on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Pro S. It has an aluminium unibody and comes in two colours. The MateBook, in addition, also houses a fingerprint sensor. The company is also offering a keyboard priced at $129 (roughly Rs. 8,800), a MatePen stylus which is priced at $59 (roughly Rs. 4,050), and a MateDock which is priced at $89 (roughly Rs. 6,100).

As the name suggests, you can get more productive by turning it into a laptop with the optional keyboard case, or use a stylus for creative work. The 12-inch IPS display has a Quad HD resolution, while the battery promises around 9 hours of uptime. The Huawei MateBook also supports quick charging through its USB Type-C connector, and claims to be able to go from zero to 60 percent in an hour.

The Huawei MateBook will be available in multiple configurations. You can choose a Core m3, m5 or m7 CPU; 4 or 8GB of RAM; and between 128GB and 512GB of flash storage. Huawei has confirmed to Gadgets 360 that there are no immediate plans to launch it in India.
