Bengaluru: HealthEminds Pvt. Ltd, a healthcare start-up which focuses on providing instant and affordable online counselling programmes for mental and emotional health, has raised an undisclosed round of angel funding led by cricketer Robin Uthappa, through his fund Caffeine Ventures, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The funding will be used to launch new products, increase reach and expand its operations team.
The news was first reported by The Economic Times on Tuesday.
The company was founded by Ankita Puri and Dr. Sunita Maheshwari.
“It’s wonderful to have an investor on board who understands the importance of the mind in sport and in health” said Dr. Maheshwari, in a statement.
HealthEminds connects counselors, psychologists and coaches to individuals in need through secure video, telephonic and chat communication systems through its platform. There are currently 70 professionals across India on the platform.
“HealthEminds is a great platform to add value to peoples’ lives and impact society. Psychologists, counselors have a huge barrier to break in our society and I believe through HealthEminds we are making it more accessible to people and letting people know it’s okay to go through issues in life and to use someone’s help to overcome these challenges,” Uthappa said.
The cricketer had earlier invested in Bengaluru-based online tiffin service provider iTiffin.in.
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has made nearly 10 investments through his YouWeCan Technologies LLP venture, including investments into logistics, aviation services, education technology and sports technology, among others.
