New partnership teaches community how to use computers

A new partnership has been announced to teach folks how to use a computer!
About 11% of Americans do not have access to the internet according to a study conducted in 2018 by Pew research. This is particularly problematic here in the County, as it causes folks to fall behind in our digital age.

To combat that, SAD 1 and AmeriCorps Digital Literacy partnered to create a class on computer basics.
“We’re planning on holding courses throughout the county. Hopefully more here in Presque Isle but they’ll be some more to come in Caribou, up in the Fort Kent area we have some classes planned. All throughout The County actually,” Robert Hohman, Americop Volunteer for the National Digitial Equity Center, said.
There will be two sessions for the class, each lasting two to three hours. For more information, call SAD #1 Adult and Community Education at 764-4776.
