If you came looking for coupons for Hobby Lobby, here is the short version: at the time we checked, hobbylobby.com did not publish a coupon code or a printable percent-off-one-item coupon anywhere we could find, including the weekly ad page that used to carry one. What Hobby Lobby does publish is a weekly ad full of category sales (40% to 50% off big chunks of the store), a set of “always” discounts on things like home decor, frames and custom framing, and free shipping on online orders of $59 or more. Those sales, not a code, are where nearly all of the savings sit.
There is also no teacher discount on Hobby Lobby’s site. We found no educator, military or senior program in its FAQ or site search. Details, and the fine print that trips people up, are below.

The weekly ad is the real Hobby Lobby coupon
Hobby Lobby’s FAQ says to check the weekly ad or sign up for emails to learn about sales. The ad we read was valid in stores from 10/12/2026 through 10/17/2026 and online from 10/11/2026 through 10/17/2026. That ad has ended, so the three weekly-ad rows in the table above are marked expired and are kept only as an example of how deep the rotating category sales run. Hobby Lobby posts a new ad each week, and the categories change. Note the one-day head start online, since the web week begins on Sunday while the stores are closed.
Highlights from that ended ad, all with no code needed:
- Christmas, 50% off listed party and tableware, crafts, decor, trees and floral. Candy, food, light sets and Scotch tape are excluded. Christmas light sets had their own separate 25% off.
- Fall decor, party, floral and crafts, 40% off, excluding candy and food.
- All yarn, 30% off, covering every brand, color and size according to the ad.
- Crafts categories at 40% off, including clay, candle wax and soap bases, The Paper Studio paper crafts, and unfinished craft wood priced $4.99 and up.
- Fixed-price sewing notions: YKK zippers, Sew-Ology thread, bias tape and buttons marked $1.49 to $3.49 are 99 cents, and those marked $3.50 to $6.99 are $1.99.
The fine print says sales are subject to stock, some items are not sold online, and the ad “does not apply to pre-reduced items,” so markdowns do not get a second discount.
The “always” discounts
A large share of the ad is labeled “always,” meaning the discount runs every week, not just this one. At the time we checked that included home decor and textiles (40% off), mirrors and lamps (50% off), party (40% off), puzzles and boxed model kits (40% off), frames (40% off), jewelry making (40% off listed brands), furniture (30% off), T-shirts and sweatshirts (20% off) and custom frames (50% off, frame only).
Here is the wry part. Hobby Lobby’s fine print says “discounts provided every day; marked prices reflect general U.S. market value for similar products.” Put plainly, when a discount is always on, the sale price is simply the price you pay. That is fine, but it means “40% off” on those departments is not a reason to rush. Compare the final price at the register, not the percentage.
A real example from the ad: Gildan youth and adult short-sleeve T-shirts are listed at $3.42 against a marked price of $4.27. That works out to $0.85 off, about 20%, and the ad says this price applies always.
Watch for “Your Price” tags
Several of the home decor, textile, floral, frame and puzzle promotions exclude items labeled “Your Price,” along with tags like Gift, Kinkeeping, Kitchen, Bath and Closet in some departments. The weekly ad says it directly: no coupons or other discounts may be applied to “Your Price” items. If a shelf tag says “Your Price,” the number on it is the number you will pay.
What happened to the Hobby Lobby percent-off coupon?
Hobby Lobby was long known for a single-item coupon on its weekly ad page, good on one item at regular price, and older search results still show that page titled “Weekly Ad & Coupon.” When we read it, the title was “Shop Our Weekly Ad,” and the word “coupon” appeared only in the “Your Price” exclusion. The homepage’s Find Savings menu had no coupon link either.
We will not guess at a percentage or code Hobby Lobby does not show. If the coupon returns, look for it on the weekly ad page or in Hobby Lobby’s emails. Treat any code found elsewhere as unverified. Hobby Lobby’s terms say it can refuse any coupon, that online you can only use codes stated as valid for the website, and that store coupons may not work online.
Hobby Lobby teacher discount: not published
Hobby Lobby does not publish a teacher discount. Its FAQ has no educator question, and a site search for teacher discounts returned classroom decor and teacher supplies departments, not a program. The same goes for military and senior discounts.
Two things that do help schools and teachers:
- Tax-exempt purchases. Every store can help set up tax-exempt status for in-store purchases. For online orders, you create an account and email your exemption certificate to Hobby Lobby’s online tax-exempt address before ordering, then wait for confirmation. This is for organizations with a valid certificate, not individual teachers buying with personal funds, unless your state’s rules say otherwise.
- Purchase orders are not accepted online. Hobby Lobby says all online orders must be paid up front.
Teachers paying their own way should lean on the weekly ad’s 40% categories. Our teacher discounts master list covers retailers that do publish educator programs. Our guides to Michaels coupons and its teacher discount policy and Staples coupons and teacher perks are good places to compare.
Price matching, rain checks and bulk orders
Hobby Lobby’s competitors’ ads policy is narrower than many shoppers expect:
- It honors a competitor’s ad in store only, and only when the ad lists a specific price and Hobby Lobby stocks the exact same item.
- It does not honor competitors’ percent-off ads or competitors’ coupons. A Michaels coupon will not work at Hobby Lobby.
- Holiday door buster ads, Cricut, Silhouette, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Simplicity and McCall’s patterns, clearance and closeout items are excluded.
- Competitors’ ads are not honored online, and the website terms say the site has no price match guarantee.
Rain checks are available when a specific item is on sale in your local store and sold out. They are not issued when a whole group is on sale (Hobby Lobby’s example is “Entire Stock of Unfinished Craft Wood”), and they are not issued or redeemable online. Hobby Lobby also says it does not offer bulk discounts.
Shipping math: when the $59 line pays
Online, the free shipping threshold is $59. Below it, standard shipping is tiered by subtotal on the shipping FAQ. Some real numbers from that table:
| Order subtotal | Standard shipping |
|---|---|
| Up to $15.00 | $7.95 |
| $25.01 to $35.00 | $9.95 |
| $35.01 to $50.00 | $10.95 |
| $50.01 to $65.00 | $11.95 |
So a $55 cart pays $11.95 to ship. Adding $4 of something you need brings it to $59 with free shipping, $7.95 less out of pocket. A $14 order pays $7.95 to ship, more than half the item’s cost. There is no store pickup; Hobby Lobby says all online orders ship to you. Colorado and Minnesota deliveries carry state delivery fees.
Returns, gift cards and Sunday closing
In-store purchases: With the original receipt, you have 90 days for an exchange, store credit or a refund to your original payment method. Purchases paid by check have a 10-day wait for refunds. Without a receipt, you can get an exchange or merchandise credit at the lowest selling price in the last 60 days, and you need a valid ID. Cricut machines and most sewing machines can only be returned unopened with a receipt.
Online purchases: Also 90 days. You pay return shipping, and shipping charges generally are not refunded. The returns FAQ says HobbyLobby.com orders under $250 can be returned at any store with the invoice, except damaged or defective items. To exchange online, you place a new order and return the old item.
Gift cards do not expire, though some states can claim idle balances as unclaimed property. PayPal is accepted online only.
Sundays: Stores are closed, which Hobby Lobby describes as a matter of principle. The website stays open.
How to save at Hobby Lobby without a coupon
- Read the weekly ad before you go. The rotating 40% and 50% categories are the deepest discounts Hobby Lobby publishes.
- Treat “always” discounts as the regular price. Compare final prices with other stores, not percentages.
- Bring a competitor’s ad that lists a price for an identical item. Percent-off ads and coupons will not work.
- Ask for a rain check when a specific advertised item is out of stock.
- Get to $59 online or shop in store for small orders.
- Stack outside the store’s checkout. Discounted gift cards, card-linked offers and cashback portals sometimes apply. Our guide on how to stack coupons, cashback and rewards explains how that works.
- Compare seasonal shopping. For party and Halloween supplies, check Oriental Trading’s offers and Spirit Halloween’s. For frames and decor you plan to repaint, a thrift run using our Goodwill color tag guide can beat even a 50% off sale.
What we could not verify
- The single-item coupon. We found no current percent-off-one-item coupon or promo code on hobbylobby.com. We cannot confirm whether one is still sent by email or offered in stores.
- Teacher, military and senior discounts. None is published, and the military-address shipping FAQ would not load for us.
- Conflicting shipping rates. The shipping FAQ lists $7.95 for orders up to $15 and tiers up to $999.95. A separate Shipping & Returns page lists $6.95 to start and $99.95 for orders over $1,000. We used the FAQ figures above, but the two pages conflict.
- Conflicting in-store returns for online orders. The returns FAQ says online orders under $250 can be returned at any store. The Shipping & Returns page says stores do not accept returns of online purchases. Bring your invoice and ask your store first.
- Home decor exclusions. The home decor sale page did not list exclusions, while the weekly ad listed several (Seasonal, “Your Price,” Kitchen, Bath and others). We relied on the weekly ad.
- No checkout tests were done.
