5 upcoming bikes in India 2019: Gixxer 250, Jawa Perak, KTM 390 Adventure and more

We are in the fifth month of 2019 and the year has already seen various new bikes being launched in India. Also, several companies have introduced the updated versions of the already existing bikes. That India is a major auto market is known thing all over the world and most of the bike and car makers want to launch their products here.

Hero MotoCorp recently launched XPulse 200, XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S in India. Triumph has launched Tiger 800 XCA, Speed Twin, Street Scrambler and Street Twin. Honda introduced bikes like CBR650R and CB300R. Harley-Davidson launched Forty-Eight Special and Street Glide Special. Yamaha brought in MT-15 and MT-09. Benelli came with TRK 502 and TRK 502X. Other notable launches were 2019 Ducati Scrambler, 2019 Suzuki GSX-S750, 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 and Kawasaki Versys 1000. While some of these were new launches, others were updates.

But the launch season for 2019 is not over yet. There are numerous upcoming bikes in India that are going to keep the bike-enthusiasts busy and excited. Several new bikes in India will be launched this year and most of us are waiting for them.

Below is the list of the new upcoming bikes in 2019 in India.

Gixxer 250

Recently, Suzuki Motorcycle India released a teaser and all of us are expecting that it is going to be the new Gixxer 250. The launch is expected to take place on May 20, with the bike being competitively priced below Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, several reports have suggested that the new upcoming bike might get an air-cooled, 250 cc engine.

Jawa Perak

While Jawa Motorcycles has already started the deliveries of Jawa and Jawa Forty Two, the bookings for Jawa Perak have not started yet. However, we do know that Perak will be priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Perak will feature a single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 334 cc engine that will churn out 30 bhp and 31 Nm of torque.

KTM 390 Adventure

KTM 390 Adventure is expected to be launched in India towards the end of 2019. It might be based on KTM 390 Duke and feature the same single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 373.2 cc engine that produces 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque. The KTM 390 Adventure price is expected to range between Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom). It might challenge the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G 310 GS.

Husqvarna Svartpilen

Husqvarna Svartpilen is expected to be launched in India around July-August 2019 and will be priced competitively. It might get a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 373 cc engine that makes 43.5 hp. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It will get dual-channel ABS.

Benelli Leoncino

Benelli Leoncino is expected to be launched in India in the latter half of 2019. The price is expected to hover around Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It might come with the engine that is available with the Benelli TRK 502 range. It is a twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, 500 cc engine. The motor delivers 47.5 PS at 8,500 rpm and produces 46 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
