HTC Partners Hungama to Pre-install Music and Play Apps on Smartphones

HTC and Hungama have now announced an exclusive partnership in India, wherein all future smartphones from the manufacturer will have two apps – Hungama Music and Hungama Play – pre-installed. Furthermore, HTC smartphone users will get an exclusive free trial for a period of three months for Hungama Music and one month for Hungama Play.

HTC will pre-install Hungama Music and Hungama Play on future smartphone releases in India, as well as a range of current smartphones as well. Hungama Music library consists of over 10 million songs and music videos while Hungama Play offers over 8,000 Bollywood, Hollywood, and regional movies.

Elaborating on the partnership, Faisal Siddiqui, President- South Asia, HTC said, “We are excited to partner with Hungama and provide our customers with a daily dose of entertainment that can be delivered and enjoyed seamlessly on our devices.”

Neeraj Roy, MD & CEO, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment said in a statement, “With the advent of faster and cheaper data, the personal handset is progressively becoming the primary destination to consume entertainment. We are glad to partner with HTC and enable an entertainment ecosystem on their devices at a single click. Hungama offers HTC users a one-stop destination for all entertainment ranging from music, movies, TV series, music videos to live events and more.”

The last smartphone launched by HTC in India was the HTC U11, priced at Rs. 51,990. The variant launched in India comes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and has been made available via Amazon India and through offline retailers as well. The HTC U11 highlights a new design language, and more notably the EdgeSense feature which brings a unique way to interact with the phone by ‘squeezing’ the sides.
