Aldi Thanksgiving Deals and Aldi Deals Explained: Meal for 10, Aldi Finds, Everyday Prices and No-Coupon Savings

Aldi deals do not work like coupon deals. Aldi’s savings come from low shelf prices, store-brand products, a rotating aisle of limited-time items, and a published Thanksgiving meal price that needs no coupon, loyalty card, or membership. Below is what Aldi itself has published about each of these, what the Thanksgiving basket actually costs per person, and which details we could not confirm on Aldi’s own pages.

Why Aldi has so few coupons

Most grocery chains build discounts around digital clipping, loyalty IDs, and manufacturer coupons. Aldi instead relies on a short product list, mostly house brands. Aldi says nearly 90% of the items on its shelves are exclusive brands, and its “Aldi 101” page says those exclusive brands cost up to 50% less than national brands, based on a comparison with leading national competitors.

That matters for coupon hunters. Manufacturer coupons are issued by national brands, and Aldi mostly does not sell national brands. Even where a coupon policy would allow one, there are relatively few products on the shelf it could apply to. Aldi’s own Thanksgiving announcement leans into this, stating that its holiday meal price requires no coupons, loyalty cards, minimum purchase, or membership.

One honest caveat: Aldi’s payment and coupon FAQ sits on aldi.us, and that page would not load for us. We have not confirmed Aldi’s written policy on manufacturer coupons from that page, so we list it under “What we could not verify” below. If you plan to bring a paper coupon, ask at the register or check the Aldi Help Center first.

Aldi Thanksgiving deals: the meal-for-10 price

The headline Aldi Thanksgiving deal is the holiday meal basket. In its newsroom release, Aldi says a Thanksgiving meal for 10 people costs under $39, or less than $4 per person. The prices run from Oct 14 through Nov 25, 2026. Three items arrive later than the rest: cranberries from Oct 26, the Farmer’s Choice turkey from Nov 4, and the pumpkin pie mix from Nov 11. Prices for those items also hold through Nov 25.

What is in the basket

Aldi lists 12 line items in the meal:

  • Farmer’s Choice whole turkey (16 lb)
  • Chef’s Cupboard stuffing mix (3 boxes)
  • Baby peeled carrots
  • Celery
  • Cranberries (12 oz)
  • Sweet potatoes (3 lb)
  • L’oven Fresh Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • Season’s Choice steamable frozen peas (2 bags)
  • Baker’s Corner pumpkin pie mix
  • Bake House Creations pie crusts
  • Friendly Farms whole milk
  • Friendly Farms heavy whipping cream

Aldi did not publish individual item prices in the release, so we cannot break the total down item by item. In stores, Aldi says these products are marked with a turkey logo on the shelf. Online, the full list can be added to a cart at once for curbside pickup or delivery.

The per-person math

Aldi’s number is a ceiling, not an exact receipt total. If the basket rings up just under $39, that works out to just under $3.90 per person for 10 guests ($39 ÷ 10). Aldi rounds this to “less than $4 per person.” Aldi’s footnote also says the actual price varies with available products, your selections, and your store location, so your total could land below or (with substitutions) above that figure.

How it compares with Aldi’s earlier baskets

Aldi has published a Thanksgiving basket price in its newsroom for several seasons. Both earlier offers have ended:

  • A meal for 10 at $40, valid Oct 15 through Dec 24, 2025 (expired). That basket listed 21 items and priced a 14-lb turkey.
  • A meal for 10 priced under $47, valid Oct 16 through Nov 27, 2024 (expired), with a 16-lb turkey.

On paper, the current ceiling of $39 is $1 below the $40 figure and $8 below the $47 ceiling. These baskets are not identical, though. The item lists and turkey sizes differ, so treat the comparison as a rough signal rather than a like-for-like price change.

Aldi also claims its shoppers saved an average of 26% on a classic Thanksgiving meal over the last five years versus the American Farm Bureau Federation’s national average. We have not independently checked that figure.

Expired: fall price reductions on everyday items

Separate from the holiday basket, Aldi announced fall price cuts that it said covered nearly one-third of its everyday in-store assortment. Aldi said these reductions would run from Sept 23 until at least Nov 3, 2026. That date has passed and the Aldi newsroom shows no extension, so treat these prices as expired. The release named two:

  • Honeycrisp apples: $1.99 for a 2-lb bag. That is about $1.00 per pound. Aldi says the price is 35% lower than a year earlier but did not print the previous price.
  • Kirkwood chicken breast family packs: $1.99 per pound. As an example, a pack weighing 3 lb would cost $5.97. Actual pack weights vary, so check the label.

Aldi notes the “nearly one-third” figure does not include rotating seasonal items or Aldi Finds. Because Aldi only committed to these prices “until at least” Nov 3, they may already have changed. Shelf tags in your store are the final word.

Aldi Finds: the rotating aisle

Aldi Finds are limited-run products that come in and leave on a schedule. Aldi’s history page says new Aldi Finds arrive every week on Wednesdays and can include new food items, small kitchen appliances, and other non-grocery goods. Aldi’s “Aldi 101” page adds that these premium items are limited and can sell out fast.

If you want something specific from the Aldi Finds aisle, go early in the week the item arrives. Aldi’s weekly emails, per its “Aldi 101” page, give subscribers early notice of deals and Aldi Finds.

The weekly ad

Aldi publishes a weekly ad with sale prices, and Aldi Finds arrive on Wednesdays. We were not able to load Aldi’s weekly-ad FAQ to confirm the exact day each new ad takes effect in every region, so we have not stated a start day as fact. Check the weekly ad for your chosen store on aldi.us; it shows the valid dates for that week.

The Aldi guarantee

Aldi’s corporate history page describes a “Double Guarantee” on its exclusive-brand products: if you are not fully satisfied, Aldi says it will replace the product and refund your money. Aldi also runs a page on aldi.us under a “Twice as Nice Guarantee” address, but that page would not load for us, so we could not confirm its current wording, receipt requirements, or which product types are excluded. Keep your receipt and ask at the store if you need to use it.

Carts and bags: the small savings habits

Two Aldi habits surprise first-time shoppers:

  • Quarter carts. Aldi says you insert a quarter to unlock a cart and get the quarter back when you return it. It is a deposit, not a fee.
  • Bring your own bags. Aldi says it was the first major U.S. retailer to remove single-use plastic bags at checkout. You can bring your own or buy paper or reusable bags at the register.

Pickup and delivery through Instacart and other apps

Aldi offers curbside pickup and delivery in certain areas, using Instacart and other partners. Aldi’s Thanksgiving release says the under-$39 meal price is available through DoorDash, Instacart, and Uber Eats, but those services may add delivery and service fees. Aldi’s earlier holiday release noted that online prices may differ slightly from in-store prices, and an Aldi store-opening release states that items on sale in the store may not be on sale through the Instacart platform.

If you order online, compare your cart total, fees, and tip against a store trip. Our guide to Instacart promo codes covers how Instacart’s own offers and fees work.

How to save without a coupon

  • Buy the published Thanksgiving list in store. The under-$39 ceiling applies to the specific items Aldi names; look for the turkey logo on shelf tags.
  • Time the turkey. Aldi’s Farmer’s Choice turkey in the basket is listed as available from Nov 4, so an earlier trip may not find it.
  • Swap national brands for Aldi brands. With nearly 90% of the shelf in exclusive brands, the house version is usually the default choice.
  • Shop on Wednesday for Aldi Finds. New items arrive weekly; limited quantities mean selection drops later in the week.
  • Bring a quarter and your own bags. The quarter comes back; bags you bring cost nothing extra.
  • Compare in-store vs. delivery totals. Partner apps can carry different prices plus fees.
  • Use a cashback card if you have one. See our guide to stacking coupons, cashback, and rewards.

If you are weighing Aldi against a warehouse club for holiday stock-up, our explainers on Costco member-only savings and Sam’s Club membership deals cover what those memberships cost and return. For the shopping weekend after the holiday, see our Black Friday deals guide.

What we could not verify

  • Manufacturer coupon policy. Aldi’s payment and coupon FAQ on aldi.us would not load for us. We have not confirmed in Aldi’s own words whether manufacturer coupons are accepted.
  • Thanksgiving Day store hours. None of the Aldi pages we could load state whether stores are open on Thanksgiving Day. Aldi’s careers page says that on most holidays stores either close all day or run reduced hours, and lists Thanksgiving among paid employee holidays, but it does not confirm a closure. Check your store’s listing before you go.
  • Weekly ad start day. Aldi’s weekly-ad FAQ did not load, so we did not confirm the day new ads take effect.
  • “Price Drops” or “Fan Favorites” programs. We did not find either name on the Aldi pages we could load. The fall price reductions above are the price-cut program Aldi described in its newsroom.
  • Twice as Nice Guarantee terms. The aldi.us page did not load; we relied on the “Double Guarantee” description on Aldi’s corporate history page.
  • Aldi app features. We did not confirm app-only offers or app features on an Aldi page.
  • Individual item prices in the Thanksgiving basket and exact delivery-app markups. Aldi did not publish them on the pages we read.

Where this information comes from

Every price and date in this guide comes from Aldi-owned pages: the Aldi newsroom release on its Thanksgiving meal for 10 (corporate.aldi.us), the newsroom release on fall price reductions, the earlier Thanksgiving release with the $40 basket, the Aldi-hosted release on the under-$47 basket (listed in the Aldi newsroom archive), the newsroom release on Aldi’s first store in Portland, Maine (carts, bags, Instacart pricing), the Aldi 101 and Aldi History pages, and the Aldi careers benefits page. Pages on aldi.us, help.aldi.us, and stores.aldi.us (coupon FAQ, weekly ad FAQ, guarantee page, store hours) would not load for us, which is why those items appear in the section above.
