Denny’s Rewards Program and Coupons: How BoothBucks, the 55+ Menu, AARP Discount and Triple Play Combos Actually Work

Merchant: Denny’s · What this page covers: how the Denny’s Rewards program (BoothBucks and Booth Rewards) works, the sign-up reward, the 55+ menu and AARP discount, the value combos Denny’s advertises, and what happened to the old coupons · Sources: Denny’s own pages, listed under Offer provenance.

Is there a Denny’s coupon or promo code right now? Not in the old printable sense. Denny’s own FAQ says “the old coupon program is being retired and the coupons will not carry over.” Discounts now come through the Denny’s Rewards program, which works on a phone number or QR code, not a typed promo code. Members earn 10 BoothBucks per $1 and get a Booth Reward at 600 points. New members get a Booth Reward just for signing up. The other standing savings Denny’s publishes are a 55+ menu, a 15% AARP discount capped at $10, and Triple Play Combo meals “starting at $9.99.” We found no public promo code on Denny’s own pages, and we did not invent one.

How Denny’s Rewards works

Denny’s FAQ calls the program “Denny’s Booth Rewards,” a loyalty program “where you earn Booth Bucks (points) with every purchase.” The rewards page brands the points as BoothBucks. Here are the mechanics, all from Denny’s own rewards page and FAQ.

Earning BoothBucks

  • Rate: “Earn 10 BoothBucks™ for every $1 spent (dine-in or online).”
  • Dine-in: Give your phone number or scan your QR code at checkout. If you don’t identify yourself, you don’t earn.
  • Online and app: Orders earn only when you’re logged in.
  • What doesn’t count: The FAQ says rewards can’t be applied to third-party delivery purchases, alcohol, tax, tips, gift cards or donations. Order through a delivery app and you’re outside the program.

Redeeming a Booth Reward

There’s one published threshold: at 600 BoothBucks, Denny’s will “automatically redeem 600 BoothBucks™ for a reward.” That unlocks a Booth Reward, which you spend on one of “40+ menu items, from starters to desserts.” Denny’s doesn’t publish a fuller list of reward tiers.

  • In the restaurant: Order the reward item before the check is closed, tell your server or cashier, and give your phone number or QR code. Denny’s says rewards can’t be added after the check closes. An in-store offer’s QR code is good for 24 hours. After that you redownload it, and the offer still works until its listed expiration.
  • Online or in the app: Pick the offer at checkout. The discount applies automatically and shows on the order confirmation.

Expiration rules that can cost you

  • BoothBucks “expire 365 days (1 year) after they are earned if not used.”
  • Once a 600-point reward is added to your account, it “will expire 60 days later.”
  • The sign-up Booth Reward expires 14 days after you get it.
  • The rewards terms say “most offers will expire each month,” and Denny’s may close accounts with no activity for 12 months or longer.
  • Members must be 18 or older. Locations “may be independently owned,” and “not all locations participate in all Offers.”

The honest math on BoothBucks

At 10 BoothBucks per dollar, you reach 600 after $60 of qualifying spending (our math, not a Denny’s quote). Tax and tips don’t count toward that $60.

The value back depends on which of the 40+ items you choose, and Denny’s doesn’t put a dollar value on a Booth Reward. Here’s an example using one menu listing we saw. Say you redeem for a $9.99 item. That’s about $10 back on $60, or roughly 16.6% (our math, not a Denny’s quote). Pick a cheaper item and the rate drops. A solo diner spending $15 a visit needs four visits (our math, not a Denny’s quote). Because points expire after a year, an occasional visitor may never reach 600. The sign-up reward is the part of the program anyone can use right away.

Is there a Denny’s senior discount or 55+ menu?

Yes, and it comes in two separate forms. People searching “denny’s senior discount” usually mean one of these.

The 55+ menu

Denny’s has a 55+ section on its online menu. A Denny’s blog post describes it as “specially priced breakfast for seniors that delivers all the flavor without the full-sized check.” The menu we loaded was set to a Columbus, Ohio restaurant and listed three items:

  • Scrambled Eggs & Cheddar Breakfast: $8.29
  • Omelette: $7.99
  • The Starter: $8.29+

Denny’s menu URLs are tied to a specific restaurant. Its site even has location-level 55+ menu pages. Treat those prices as one location’s prices, not a national price list. Denny’s doesn’t post written age-check or participation rules for the 55+ menu beyond the “55+” label. Ask at your restaurant, since locations can be independently owned.

One conflict on Denny’s own pages: an older Denny’s blog post about senior discounts names a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Soup, Wild Alaska Salmon and Country-Fried Steak as 55+ items. The current online menu we loaded showed only the three breakfast items above. Go by your restaurant’s current menu, not the blog.

The AARP discount

Denny’s FAQ says “AARP members are eligible to receive 15% off their entire check when they scan their membership card in-store.” The discount is capped at $10.00 and can’t be combined with other offers. It also doesn’t apply to alcohol, gift cards or “orders made online.” Denny’s blog posts say it’s offered “at participating locations.”

The $10 cap kicks in at a check of about $66.67, since 15% of $66.67 is $10 (our math, not a Denny’s quote). Below that you get the full 15%. On a $30 breakfast for two, 15% is $4.50 off. On a $90 family dinner you still get only $10 off, which works out to about 11% (our math, not a Denny’s quote). Because AARP can’t be combined with other offers, compare it with any rewards offer you have that day and use whichever is bigger. For other chains’ senior programs, see our senior discounts master list.

Value menus and combos Denny’s advertises

Triple Play Combo meals

The current deals banner on Denny’s menu reads “Triple Play Combo Meals Starting At $9.99.” Denny’s newsroom describes each combo as a drink, a starter (Maple Stuffed Donut Holes or Chips & Salsa) and an entrée, with “tiered pricing starting at $9.99.” The menu listing we loaded showed:

  • $9.99: Everyday Value Slam, Diner QP
  • $12.99: Super Slam, Spicy All-American Slamwich, Diner QP + Slider, Tenders & Fries
  • $16.99: Double Diner QP

Denny’s doesn’t publish an end date. Here’s a quick check on value: the same menu listed the Everyday Value Slam by itself for $6.99 under Classic Slams, so the $9.99 combo adds a drink and a starter for $3 (our math, not a Denny’s quote). That’s a good deal if you’d order both anyway. If you only drink water, the plain Slam is cheaper.

Slammin’ Meal Deals

Denny’s newsroom announced a “Slammin’ Meal Deals” value menu “starting at $5.99,” with items like the 2-Egg Breakfast Slam, Breakfast Quesadilla and Grand Slam Burrito. The current online menu we loaded had no section by that name, and Denny’s gives no end date. We’ve marked it unverified. Ask your restaurant whether it still offers it.

Member-only events like Diner Days

Denny’s ran “Diner Days,” a member appreciation week, from 9/1/2026 to 9/7/2026, with a $10-off-$30 offer extended through 9/11/2026. The daily offers included triple BoothBucks, 20% off with a $10 cap, and a dessert BOGO. That event has EXPIRED. It shows how Denny’s now runs promotions: for Rewards members only, with fine print excluding third-party delivery, combos and value menu items. Denny’s also said members “should be opted-in to email, sms, and push for exclusive offers.” For how Denny’s program compares with other chains’, see our restaurant rewards programs ranking.

How to save at Denny’s without a coupon

  1. Join Rewards before you order. The sign-up Booth Reward is the easiest free item Denny’s offers, and it expires in 14 days, so join right before a visit you’ve already planned.
  2. Always identify yourself at checkout. Points aren’t added afterward. Give your phone number or QR code, or log in before ordering online.
  3. Order directly, not through delivery apps. Third-party delivery orders don’t earn or redeem rewards.
  4. Pick between AARP and other offers. AARP doesn’t stack. Use it in store when 15% (up to $10) beats your rewards offer.
  5. Check whether the combo is worth it. At the listing we saw, the Triple Play combo adds about $3 over the standalone Slam. That’s good value if you want the drink and starter.
  6. Opt in to app notifications. Denny’s says member-only offers go out by email, SMS and push.
  7. Spend rewards before they lapse. A 600-point reward lasts 60 days, and points expire after a year.

What we could not verify

  • What the sign-up free item is, and which items it covers.
  • What the birthday and anniversary rewards are. The FAQ says members get “special gifts and rewards” but gives no details.
  • A full list of the 40+ Booth Reward items and their menu prices.
  • Whether the 55+ menu checks age, and which restaurants carry it.
  • Whether Slammin’ Meal Deals is still offered.
  • Prices at locations other than the one Columbus, Ohio listing we loaded.
  • Any military, student or teacher discount. We found none on Denny’s own pages.
  • Details of the “Kids Eat Free” offers that the FAQ mentions only as not valid online.

Frequently asked questions

How many BoothBucks do I need for a free item at Denny’s?

600 BoothBucks. You earn 10 per $1 spent, so that’s $60 of qualifying spending (our math). The reward then lasts 60 days.

Does Denny’s have a senior discount?

Denny’s has a 55+ menu with specially priced items. It also offers AARP members 15% off their check in store, capped at $10, at participating locations. The AARP discount doesn’t work online or with other offers.

Can I still use old Denny’s coupons?

Denny’s FAQ says the old coupon program is being retired and those coupons won’t carry over. Offers now come through Denny’s Rewards.

Do Denny’s Rewards work on DoorDash or Uber Eats orders?

No. Denny’s FAQ lists purchases through third-party delivery among the exclusions. Order on dennys.com or in the Denny’s app while logged in.

Do BoothBucks expire?

Yes. Points expire 365 days after they’re earned if you don’t use them. Inactive accounts may be closed after 12 months.

Does every Denny’s honor the same offers?

Not always. Denny’s rewards terms say locations “may be independently owned” and “not all locations participate in all Offers.”
