The 17% sign-up offer: what we can and cannot confirm

The sign-up banner appears across dunhamssports.com. It reads “Get 17% Off* when you connect with us!” and the form says that by signing up you agree to Dunham’s Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

The asterisk matters. Its fine print did not appear in any version of the page we could read, so we cannot say whether the 17% works once or repeatedly, online or in store, with a minimum purchase, or which items are excluded. Dunham’s also has a “Coupon Exclusions” page, but its text did not load for us either.

Here is what 17% looks like in dollars, as an example only, assuming the offer applies to everything in the cart:

$120 pair of boots and socks: 17% is $20.40 off, so you pay $99.60.
$300 cart: 17% is $51 off, so you pay $249.

Because the fine print is unknown, assume that items Dunham’s typically excludes from coupons may not qualify. In the grand-opening coupons described below, Dunham’s excluded firearms, ammo, optics and gift cards. We have not confirmed that the 17% offer uses the same list, but it is the pattern Dunham’s has published.

Tip: sign up a few days before a planned purchase so the coupon arrives and you can read its terms first.

Email and text coupons

Dunham’s runs both an email program and a text alert program, each with its own page on dunhamssports.com. There are also pages titled “Text Message Coupons” and “Text Weekly,” which suggests texts carry coupons and weekly-ad highlights. The pages we could read did not state how often messages are sent, how to opt out, or what the text coupons are typically worth, so we are not putting a number on them.

The Value Vault is a separate section titled “Coupons and Sales | Weekly Savings.” Its contents did not load for us, so we cannot say what it holds, but it is the page Dunham’s itself labels for coupons, so check it before you buy.

Example math: a $90 jacket on sale for $69.99 saves $20.01, about 22%, no code needed. If a sign-up coupon also applied to the sale price (not confirmed), 17% off $69.99 would take another $11.90, to $58.09. Do not plan around that until the coupon’s terms say sale items qualify.

Grand-opening coupons: the biggest published Dunham’s coupon

The largest coupon Dunham’s has published in its own documents is tied to new store openings. Dunham’s grand-opening press releases, posted as PDFs on dunhamssports.com, describe the same pattern at different stores:

The first 100 families in line on opening day get a shopping bag with a coupon for 25% off the regular price of everything they can fit in the bag.
The coupon is one-time use, good on opening day only, “excludes firearms, ammo, optics & gift cards,” and has a “Limit 2 of any one item.”
The first adult customers who spend $19.99 or more on opening day get a Dunham’s gift card of varying value.
Free Dunham’s t-shirts and baseball caps go to early shoppers on the following days.

Example math: fill the bag with $160 of regular-price apparel and footwear and the 25% coupon takes $40 off, so you pay $120. Note “regular price”: items already on sale may not get the full benefit. The two-of-any-one-item limit means this is a stock-up deal for families, not a resale opportunity.

These are event offers, so we list them as expired. If a Dunham’s is opening near you, watch for its press release, which spells out the day and terms.

Military and other discount programs

Dunham’s has a “Discount Programs” section in its main navigation, a “Military Discount Program” page and a “Discounts Group” page. Their details load in the browser and did not appear in any version we could read, so we cannot state the percentage, who qualifies or how eligibility is checked. The military program stays unverified until we can read Dunham’s terms.

Dunham’s return packing slip (a PDF on dunhamssports.com) lays out how online-order returns work:

Proof of purchase is required for a full refund. For online orders, print the order confirmation email.
The easiest route is to take the item to a local Dunham’s store. If you cannot, you can ship it at your own expense to Dunham’s Returns Department, addressed to your nearest store.
Dunham’s says to allow 7 to 10 business days for the refund to be processed after it receives the package.

The packing slip refers to “Dunham’s Online Order Return Policy” but states no return window or non-returnable items. Dunham’s “Changing or Canceling Your Order” page summarizes that you may cancel for a full refund by notifying Dunham’s in writing within seven working days of receiving the goods.

Why this matters: a $140 purchase made without the 17% offer would have cost $116.20 with it, a $23.80 gap. We could not confirm whether Dunham’s applies a coupon after the fact, so ask at the store before trying a return and repurchase.

Price match and store pickup

We found no price-match policy on the Dunham’s pages we could read, so ask your store before counting on one. For online orders the site advertises “Order Now, Ship to Home”; we found no page describing buy-online, pick-up-in-store.
