The $5 off $25: how it differs from Dollar General’s
- Same mechanics: clip it in the app, meet $25 after other discounts, enter your phone number at the register.
- Day varies more. Family Dollar’s version has run on Saturdays and, in some regions and periods, on other days or across a weekend. The coupon states its date; don’t assume Saturday.
- Targeting. Like DG, it’s pushed to accounts rather than published universally. Check the Smart Coupons tab early in the week.
- Exclusions are the standard set — gift cards, prepaid cards, tobacco, alcohol where sold, and some regulated items — printed on the coupon.
The math is identical: 20% on a $25 basket, less as the basket grows. Two $25 trips beat one $50 trip.
