Merchant: JCPenney (jcpenney.com) · What this page covers: the JCPenney coupons page, how codes stack, JCPenney Rewards points and CashPass rewards, JCPenney Credit Card offers, shipping, price adjustments and returns · Sources: JCPenney’s own pages, listed under Offer provenance.
Yes, JCPenney publishes its own coupon codes. Its coupons page lists online codes (when we checked it showed AUTUMN26, SAVEBIG7 and MASCARA) plus matching in-store offers that need no code. You don’t need a coupon site to find them: the merchant’s page is the source, and every code below comes from it.
The bigger savings lever is how the pieces combine. JCPenney’s pricing page says you can use one promotional code and one free shipping code per order, and its Rewards program turns 200 points into a $10 CashPass, which works out to roughly 5% back in reward value for most shoppers and more for cardholders. The coupons page says the percent- or dollar-off discount applies first, then rewards, then free shipping.

Codes rotate. If a code above no longer appears on JCPenney’s coupons page, treat it as expired.
How JCPenney coupon codes work
- One promotional code per order. The pricing page says “Use only one promotional coupon per order” and “Use only one shipping coupon per order.” So AUTUMN26 and MASCARA can’t both go on the same online order.
- Different types can stack. The coupons page says shoppers can use “more than one coupon at a time, so long as each offer is a different type.” In practice: one promo code, one free shipping code, plus Rewards CashPasses.
- Ten-code ceiling. The pricing page says “JCPenney allows for a maximum of ten codes to be redeemed.” The Rewards FAQs add that you can use up to ten $10 CashPasses per purchase, or nine if you also enter a coupon code at jcp.com.
- Sale items: the coupons page says codes can be used “on top of sales,” but each coupon has its own terms, so check the “see details” link for that code.
- Online vs. in store: it depends on the coupon. Store coupons can be scanned from a printed barcode or from the JCPenney app.
Excluded brands: neither the coupons page nor the pricing page lists brand exclusions. Exclusions sit in each code’s own fine print, so read it before assuming a brand qualifies.
JCPenney Rewards: points, CashPass and tiers
The Rewards program is now officially named the “Catalyst Brands Rewards Access Loyalty Program,” and JCPenney and Aéropostale are both participating brands. The math is simple:
- Earn: 1 point per eligible $1 with standard payment, capped at 2,000 points per transaction.
- Convert: 200 points automatically becomes a $10 CashPass.
- Effective return: $10 ÷ $200 = 5% back in reward value for non-card members.
No points on gift cards, taxes, shipping, protection plans, services or marketplace purchases, among other exclusions.
Tiers
| Tier | How you qualify (per calendar year) | Key perks listed by JCPenney |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Join | 1 point per $1 |
| Insider | $100 spend, or hold a JCPenney Credit Card or Mastercard | $10 Birthday CashPass, Challenges |
| Elite | $300 spend | $10 Birthday CashPass, more Challenges, free store delivery on eligible items |
| VIP | $1,000 spend and hold a JCPenney card | $10 Birthday CashPass, 2 points per $1 with the card, free standard shipping on orders over $25, one complimentary salon or photo studio session a year |
Expiration rules that matter
- Points stay alive as long as you earn at least once in a 12-month period.
- CashPass rewards expire. The FAQs say they last “a minimum of 45 days,” and each one shows its own expiry, ending at 11:59 p.m. Central. Unused CashPasses are forfeited.
Where CashPasses don’t work
JCPenney’s Rewards Redemption Exclusions page lists marketplace items, in-store services and service plans, closing-store purchases, gift cards, prior purchases, salon gratuity, international purchases, donations and payments on account.
JCPenney Credit Card offers and the math
The card raises your Rewards earning rate at JCPenney and jcp.com:
- Insider and Elite cardholders: 1.5 points per $1 → 1.5 × $200 = 300 points per $200, or $15 in CashPass: 7.5% back in reward value.
- VIP cardholders: 2 points per $1 → $20 CashPass per $200 spent: 10% back.
- JCPenney Mastercard elsewhere: 1 point per $5, so $1,000 of outside spending earns 200 points, or one $10 CashPass (1%).
The terms also list a $10 Bonus CashPass when you’re approved for the card, and holding the card automatically puts you at Insider or higher.
Account-opening discount: the credit card benefits page advertises savings on select purchases the day you open and use the card, but the headline and the fine print describe it differently (a percentage in the headline; fixed dollar amounts by purchase size in the fine print). It is one per account, can’t be combined with other coupons, and excludes gift cards and services. Confirm the exact amount at application.
The cost side: the same page lists a variable purchase APR of 33.24% for new accounts. One month of carried interest on a balance wipes out a 7.5% reward fast. The card’s value only holds if you pay in full.
The jewelry code SAVEBIG7 is the one listed offer with a card bonus: an extra 35% off with the card versus 30% otherwise. Example: on a $200 item, that’s $70 off with the card versus $60 off without, a $10 difference before Rewards points.
A worked example (illustrative)
Example only, using the published rates. Say you buy $120 of eligible apparel online while AUTUMN26 is active and pay with a standard card as a Member:
- Extra 30% off: $120 × 0.30 = $36 off → $84.
- Apply one $10 CashPass you already have → $74.
- $74 is above the $49 free shipping threshold → shipping is $0 (otherwise $8.95).
- You’d earn points on the eligible net amount (about 74–84 points, depending on how JCPenney counts the CashPass), heading toward your next $10.
About $74 out of pocket for $120 of merchandise before tax, roughly 38% under the starting price.

Shipping, price adjustments and returns
Shipping
- Standard shipping is $8.95 on orders up to $48.99 and free from $49. Truck-delivered and some manufacturer-shipped items are excluded.
- Store delivery (ship to store) is free over $25 and $3.95 below that.
- VIP Rewards members get free standard shipping over $25.
Price adjustments and price match
- The pricing page says “One time sales adjustments will be made in-store within 14 days of the purchase,” with the original receipt.
- The Lowest Price Guarantee matches other retailers’ in-store and online prices. To get a match on a past purchase, bring the ad and your receipt within 14 days. Clearance, online-only coupons, marketplace sellers, club prices and coupon-required competitor deals are excluded. Eligible JCPenney coupons apply after the match.
Returns
- Returns and exchanges are accepted with a receipt within 60 days of purchase. A longer holiday window applies to fall purchases; the returns page lists the cutoff.
- Store returns are free. Mail returns through UPS carry a flat $8 fee.
How to save at JCPenney without a coupon
- Join Rewards before your first order. The $10 Welcome CashPass alone takes 10% off a $100 purchase.
- Add your birthday and reach Insider ($100 a year) for the $10 Birthday CashPass.
- Use store delivery on small orders: it’s free over $25, while home shipping is free only from $49.
- Ask for a price match if another retailer has the same item cheaper (excluding clearance and the other exclusions listed above).
- Watch for a price drop within 14 days of buying and ask in store about the one-time sales adjustment.
- Check discount programs at other retailers too: our military discounts, teacher discounts and senior discounts lists cover them. We did not find a JCPenney-published military, teacher or senior discount on the pages we reviewed.
- Time big purchases around sale events. Our deal days calendar and Black Friday deals guide map the major ones.
Stacking order
- Sale or clearance price (or a price-matched price).
- One promotional code (for example AUTUMN26), applied first per JCPenney’s coupons page.
- Rewards CashPasses: up to nine with a code online, ten without.
- Free shipping, either by hitting the $49 threshold or with a shipping code.
- Pay with the JCPenney card if you pay in full, for 1.5x or 2x points.
What we could not verify
- Expiration dates for AUTUMN26, SAVEBIG7, MASCARA and the in-store offers. The coupons page labels them “expires” but shows no date.
- The exact credit card account-opening discount: the headline and fine print on the benefits page describe different structures.
- The card earn rate wording in the Rewards FAQs, which conflicts internally (“one and one half” versus “one half or two point multiplier”). We used the tier-based rates from the Rewards terms.
- Any brand-level coupon exclusions. They live in each code’s “see details” fine print, which we could not read.
- Whether points are calculated before or after CashPasses are applied.
- How coupons and CashPasses are handled when you return an item. The returns page doesn’t say.
- Any current “Bonus Bucks” program. The only first-party mention we found was an old company blog post, so we treated it as not current.
- Whether JCPenney refunds the difference when its own online price drops after you buy, beyond the in-store one-time adjustment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use more than one JCPenney coupon code?
Only one promotional code per order, per JCPenney’s pricing page. You can add one free shipping code and Rewards CashPasses on top.
How much is a JCPenney Rewards point worth?
200 points convert to a $10 CashPass, so each point is worth 5 cents in reward value. At 1 point per $1, that’s 5% back. Cardholders earn 1.5 or 2 points per $1 depending on tier.
Do JCPenney CashPass rewards expire?
Yes. Each CashPass shows its own expiration. JCPenney’s FAQs say they last at least 45 days, and unused CashPasses are forfeited.
What’s the JCPenney free shipping minimum?
$49 for standard shipping. Below that it’s $8.95. Store delivery is free over $25, and VIP members get free standard shipping over $25.
Does JCPenney price match?
Yes, through its Lowest Price Guarantee, with exclusions (see above). For a past purchase, bring the ad and receipt within 14 days.
How long do I have to return something to JCPenney?
60 days with a receipt for most items, with a longer holiday window for fall purchases. Marketplace items have 30 days. Mail returns cost a flat $8.
Where do JCPenney coupons come from?
JCPenney’s own coupons page and its email/text signup. Codes posted elsewhere may be expired or invented. Our guide to spotting fake coupon sites explains the red flags.
