Merchant: Ace Hardware (acehardware.com) · What this page covers: whether Ace publishes coupon codes, how Ace Rewards points turn into dollars, Premier status, free pickup and delivery rules, and why your local store’s deals may not match another Ace · Sources: Ace Hardware’s own pages, listed under Offer provenance.
Yes, Ace Hardware does publish real promo codes, but they are short-lived, usually online-only, and usually limited to Ace Rewards members. The most recent one we found on acehardware.com was an Ace Rewards Days code worth 15% off select regular-priced items on online orders of $49 or more. It has already ended. Ace’s own coupons page says its online coupon promotions “change regularly,” and when we looked, both its online and in-store coupon sections read “Check back soon!”
So the dependable way to save at Ace is the free Ace Rewards program, not a code hunt. Members earn 10 points per qualifying dollar, and every 2,500 points becomes a $5 reward. That works out to about 2% back. Members also get free delivery from the store on qualifying orders of $50 or more. Free store pickup is open to everyone.
The catch: most Ace stores are independently owned, so prices, promotions, delivery areas and some Rewards benefits vary by store.

Does Ace Hardware have coupon codes?
Ace does run code-based promotions, but they behave differently from the evergreen codes many shoppers expect. The Ace Rewards Days promotion is a good example of the pattern. The code ARDOCT26 was “Online Only,” required Ace Rewards membership, applied only to select in-stock, regular-priced items, needed a $49 minimum before tax and shipping, and could not be combined with subscriptions “or any other offer.” The page also excluded a long list of brands, including Benjamin Moore, Big Green Egg, Blackstone, Traeger, Weber and YETI, and pointed to acehardware.com/exclusions for more.
The takeaway: Ace codes are tied to events, often exclude big brands, and usually require a free Rewards account. If a site shows an “Ace Hardware coupon code” with no matching page on acehardware.com, treat it with suspicion. Our guide to spotting fake coupon sites explains the warning signs.
How Ace Rewards pays: the real math
According to Ace’s program terms, members earn ten points for every $1.00 spent on qualifying purchases in store, on the website or in the app. Every 2,500 points produces a reward worth $5.00 off. Points are counted before tax, shipping and delivery costs, and after discounts and reward redemptions.
Here is what that means in dollars (our own example math, using Ace’s published rates):
- $1 of qualifying spend = 10 points = 2 cents of reward value, or 2% back.
- $250 of qualifying spend = 2,500 points = one $5 reward.
- Example: A new member starts with the 1,000 New Member Points listed on the Rewards page. They need 1,500 more points, which takes $150 of qualifying spend, to unlock the first $5 reward.
- Example: A household that spends $750 in a year at Ace earns 7,500 points, which is three $5 rewards, or $15 back.
Ace says points “do not expire,” but rewards do: on the last day of the fourth month after they are issued. A reward issued in January expires May 31.
Taxes, gift cards, charitable donations, service fees, shipping charges and purchases through third-party marketplaces such as DoorDash do not earn points. Rewards cannot be spent on gift cards, subscriptions, lumber and building materials, fuel, rentals and other store services, and several other categories. On a lumber-heavy project, use rewards on fasteners, tools and finishing supplies.
Ace Rewards Premier: what $750 a year gets you
Ace has one status level above the standard free membership, called Ace Rewards Premier. You qualify by spending $750 or more on qualifying purchases in a rolling 12-month period, combining online, app and in-store purchases. Taxes, applied rewards and discounts do not count toward the $750. Premier status expires one year from the end of the calendar month in which you qualify. Members with store house accounts cannot get Premier.
Premier members “from time to time” receive exclusive offers and coupons, and the Rewards page mentions Premier app “10% Off and 3X Points Welcome Offers,” with exclusions. Ace publishes no higher base earn rate for Premier, and we found no “Platinum” tier.
Free store pickup, curbside and delivery
Free Store Pickup is open to anyone. For in-stock items at your local store, Ace says you can pick up “in 15 minutes” if you order at least 30 minutes before closing. Warehouse items ship to the store first. Stores hold orders for up to 5 days, and you need your order number and a matching photo ID. Free Curbside Pickup is offered at participating locations.
Delivery from store is free for Rewards members who are signed in and spend $50 or more on qualifying items. Same-day delivery and addresses outside the store’s standard area are excluded. Otherwise, fees depend on speed, item type and distance, and Ace notes that “participation and Standard Delivery Area vary by store.”
Ship to home is priced by order weight, and Ace publishes no free-shipping threshold for it.
Why your local Ace’s deals differ
Ace is retailer-owned. The corporation is owned by its local retailers, and most stores are “independently owned and operated by local entrepreneurs.” Ace reports more than 5,000 stores in over 60 countries. As a result, “prices, promotions, styles, and availability may vary.” Every Rewards member is assigned to a participating retailer, and individual stores may modify benefits. Printed rewards are redeemed at the store named on them. The Local Ad on acehardware.com appears after you select a store. Before you compare prices, set your nearest Ace as your store.
Military, senior and other discounts
We found no chain-wide military, veteran, senior or teacher discount published on acehardware.com or the Ace newsroom. The store detail pages we checked did not list one either. Because most stores are independently owned, an individual Ace may run its own discount. The only way to confirm that is to ask the store directly. For chains that publish these discounts nationally, see our military discounts master list and senior discounts master list. If you shop farm and ranch supplies too, our Tractor Supply Neighbor’s Club breakdown compares a similar points model.
Is there an Ace Hardware credit card?
Ace’s payments page lists major cards, Ace Gift Card, Apple Pay, GPay, PayPal and PayPal Pay Later, but no Ace-branded consumer credit card or financing. An Ace newsroom release describes “unlimited 3% Daily Cash” with Apple Card via Apple Pay in the app, online and in stores, excluding online or in-app gift card purchases. The release is undated, so confirm it is still running.
How to save at Ace Hardware without a coupon
- Join Ace Rewards before your first purchase. It is free, it adds the New Member Points, and it unlocks free delivery on qualifying $50+ orders.
- Choose Free Store Pickup over weight-priced ship-to-home, or batch orders to reach the $50 free-delivery threshold.
- Spend rewards before they expire. They expire at the end of the fourth month after they are issued.
- Watch for Ace Rewards Days and bonus-points events. During the double-points window described above, each qualifying dollar earned 2X points. As an example, $100 of qualifying spend would earn 2,000 points instead of 1,000. Our year-round deal days calendar and Black Friday deals guide track the bigger retail sale windows.
- Refer friends. Each enrolled referral adds 1,000 points, up to 10 referrals, which is 40% of a $5 reward each.
Stacking order
Ace’s terms say rewards combine with other offers “unless prohibited by the terms of such other offers,” and the ARDOCT26 code did prohibit combining. Points are calculated after rewards, coupons and Instant Savings.
- Sign in to Ace Rewards so the purchase earns points and member offers apply.
- Apply any member promo code that is currently live on acehardware.com, and read its “cannot be combined” language.
- Apply an available $5 reward if the offer terms allow it and the items are reward-eligible.
- Pay with a card that earns its own rewards. For the general method, see how to stack coupons, cashback and rewards.
Example: You have a $120 online cart of eligible, regular-priced items during a 15%-off member event. The code takes $18 off, leaving $102. That $102 earns 1,020 base points, before any bonus-points multiplier.
What we could not verify
- The exact Ace mobile app download bonus. Ace’s Rewards page shows both “$10 instant bonus” and “$5 download bonus,” and the terms defer to the app.
- The birthday offer amount. The Rewards page references both $5 and $10 birthday offers without clearly saying who gets which.
- The next-day delivery order cutoff. Ace’s pages give different cutoffs, and participation varies by store.
- Whether a new member promo code is live right now. Ace’s coupons page showed no active online or in-store coupons when we checked.
- Whether the Apple Card 3% Daily Cash offer is still active, since the release is undated.
- Any chain-wide military, senior, student or teacher discount. None is published, and individual stores may differ.
- The full text of Ace’s “Discounts & Codes” help section, which did not load for us.
- Whether the Local Ad runs on a fixed weekly schedule.
