Is there a Home Depot coupon code? Not in the way most shoppers hope. The Home Depot does not run a public promo-code page with codes anyone can type in at checkout. Its own Savings Center lists deals, bulk pricing, daily deals, credit offers and the military discount, and every page footer carries one sign-up incentive: “Get $5 off when you sign up for emails with savings and tips.” That email offer is the closest thing to a first-party coupon we could find. Every program covered below is also listed on our Home Depot offers page. If a third-party site shows a “20% off everything” Home Depot code, treat it with suspicion. Our guide to spotting fake coupon sites explains why.
Most of the real savings come from programs, not codes. Registered military members, veterans and spouses get up to 10% off. Contractors get Pro Xtra Perks. Big projects can use card financing, and buying materials in volume unlocks bulk prices. Below is what the Home Depot publishes about each one, with the savings math.

Does Home Depot have promo codes?
The Savings Center mentions “coupons,” but we found no public promo-code list on homedepot.com. The first-party offers we did find are the $5 email sign-up offer (no minimum or delivery format stated), personalized Pro Xtra offers tied to a member’s account, and new-account savings on the credit cards. On a $40 order, $5 off works out to 12.5%. On a $2,000 appliance it barely registers, and the military discount, bulk pricing or financing will matter much more.
The Home Depot military discount
The Home Depot’s military page sums it up as “up to 10% off on select in-stock items.” The company’s newsroom has described the Military Discount Benefit as covering “all U.S. veterans, active service members and spouses,” with “10% off eligible items in-stores and online” once you’re registered.
How it works, per the Home Depot’s own articles:
- Create or sign in to a homedepot.com account.
- Pre-register for the Military Discount Benefit. The corporate how-to article points to SheerID for help with verification.
- Once verified, your account “will now reflect your verified military status,” and the discount applies to eligible items online. In stores, the company suggests keeping the app signed in so you can show your verified account at checkout.
Example math: say you spend $400 on discount-eligible items. At 10% you save $40 and pay $360 before tax. Read the wording carefully, though. “Up to 10%” and “select in-stock items” mean some items, including anything the Home Depot excludes, may get less or nothing. Check the discount on your receipt or in your cart before assuming the full 10%.
Related military savings the Home Depot publishes:
- Free APO/FPO delivery is advertised on the military page, marked “Exclusions Apply.”
- Military Exchange Partnership: the Home Depot’s exchange page says eligible shoppers can “shop major appliances tax-free with exclusive military pricing” through shopmyexchange.com and mynavyexchange.com. It lists eligibility as “Veterans, active-duty, retirees, DoW civilians, National Guard, reservists & dependents.” On a $1,500 appliance in an area with 7% sales tax, skipping the tax alone works out to $105.
- Moving: a Home Depot Military Moving press release said active military and veterans get 15% off Penske truck rentals at Home Depot locations with proof of service. We could not confirm this on a current offer page, so it’s listed as unverified.
For other retailers with similar programs, see our military discounts master list, which includes the Tractor Supply and Under Armour programs.
Home Depot price match
The Home Depot has a Price Match Guarantee & Price Inquiries page. Its description says it covers “competitor price match rules for in-store and online products.” We couldn’t read the page body, so we could not confirm the rules themselves, such as which competitors count or how long after purchase you can ask.
Our advice is to treat price matching as real but conditional. Before you buy, pull up the competitor’s live listing with the exact model number, then ask at the register or contact Customer Service. Example: if the store matches a $549 competitor price on a $599 item, you save $50. A registered military shopper getting the full 10% would save $59.90 on the same item, so compare both before you pick one. We could not verify whether the two can be combined.
Pro Xtra: the contractor loyalty program
The Home Depot describes Pro Xtra as “The Home Depot loyalty program built for Pros.” According to the company’s own pages and newsroom:
- Members earn rewards by shopping and unlock Perks in the app. The newsroom lists Tool Rental Perks and Pro Xtra Dollars as options, plus occasional “surprise Bonus Perks.”
- A Pro Xtra Virtual ID in the app tracks purchases and savings at checkout.
- Members see personalized offers on products they buy most.
- The Home Depot has also listed paint rewards and volume pricing among Pro Xtra benefits, but the current pages we read don’t spell out their rates.
The Pro Xtra (PX) card page says cardholders “Earn Perks 4X faster,” and new accounts opened by 1/27/27 can save up to $100 on a qualifying purchase. If you only shop occasionally, Pro Xtra is mostly useful for purchase tracking.
Home Depot credit card offers
The Credit Center lists several offers:
- Consumer card: EXPIRED: the “12 Months Financing on Appliance Purchases of $299+” offer, marked “Valid now through 10/14/26,” has ended. The Credit Center also advertises “Save up to $100” on qualifying purchases with a new card, and “Special Financing Available everyday.”
- Commercial card: a 2% early-pay discount if you pay your invoice online within 20 days, or 60 days to pay.
Example math: if the 12-month appliance financing returns, a $1,200 refrigerator on it means paying $100 a month to clear it in time. We couldn’t read the full terms, including whether the financing is deferred interest (back-interest if a balance remains), so check the application before you sign.
Daily Deals and Special Buy of the Day
The Home Depot’s daily deals page runs one-day prices on selected appliances, décor and tools. The terms printed on the page:
- “Online Only. While Supplies Last.”
- “All offers reset at 3 AM ET, 12 AM PST, 1 AM MST & 2 AM CST.”
- Per-item order limits (we saw limits ranging from 3 to 50 per order).
- Headline discounts advertised as “Up to 50% off Select Deals of the Day.”
“Up to 50%” is the most you’ll see, not the typical discount. Compare each deal with the item’s regular listing before you buy.
Bulk pricing: the quiet discount
The Home Depot’s Bulk Pricing pages show a regular price plus a lower price once you hit a quantity. Some example tiers we saw on the page (prices vary by store and change often):
| Item | Regular | Bulk tier | Example savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2x4x96 in. stud | $4.25 | $3.83 at 50 or more | 50 studs: $212.50 vs. $191.50, $21 saved (about 10%) |
| Sheetrock UltraLight drywall panel | $16.68 | $14.18 at 34 or more | 34 panels: $567.12 vs. $482.12, $85 saved (about 15%) |
If you’re near a tier, buying up can cost less. At the drywall prices above, 30 panels at the regular price cost $500.40, while 34 at the bulk price cost $482.12.
How to save at Home Depot without a coupon
- Register for the military discount if you qualify. It’s the largest standing percentage discount we found on the Home Depot’s pages.
- Check bulk tiers on lumber, drywall, sheathing and other project materials before checkout.
- Ask about a price match when a competitor’s live price is lower on the same model.
- Join Pro Xtra if you buy often.
- Time big purchases around major retail sale events, and compare against the daily deals page. Our deal days calendar maps the major shopping events.
- Sign up for emails for the $5 incentive.
- Layer card rewards or cashback from your own card or portal. Our stacking guide covers how this works in general.
Stacking order
The Home Depot does not publish a stacking policy on the pages we read, so take this as a sequence to try, not a guarantee. Start from the lowest shelf price (regular, bulk tier or daily deal). Next, ask for a price match. Then apply the military discount if you’re registered, use the $5 email offer if your order qualifies, and pay with the card or financing that suits you.
What we could not verify
- The full Price Match Guarantee rules: eligible competitors, identical-item requirements, post-purchase windows and online marketplace exclusions. The page body did not load for us.
- Whether the military discount has an annual cap, a full list of exclusions, or stacks with price matching, bulk pricing or daily deals.
- Minimum purchase, eligible products and delivery format for the $5 email sign-up offer.
- Credit card footnotes, including whether the 12-month financing is deferred interest, the APR, and the exact qualifying-purchase tiers behind “save up to $100.”
- Current Pro Xtra paint reward rates, volume pricing terms and Perk values.
- Whether the Penske 15% military truck-rental discount from the Military Moving press release is still offered.
- Any general new-mover offer. We found moving supplies and truck rentals on homedepot.com but no mover-specific discount.
