Is there an Old Navy coupon code right now? Usually the bigger savings at Old Navy do not need one. Old Navy’s own coupons and promo codes page was running a sitewide “40% Off Everything” event, in store and online, with no code shown and an end date of 10/12 on the banner. That event has now ended. Codes do appear from time to time (we saw one called EXTRA on an Old Navy customer service page), but most of the money is in automatic sales, Super Cash and the loyalty program.
If you are searching for “Old Navy rewards” or “Navyist Rewards,” the program has changed. Gap Inc. now runs Encore, one membership shared across Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta (for the Gap side, see how Gap’s FAMILY code, GapCash and Gap Factory work). Gap Inc. says existing loyalty members were moved into Encore automatically and that their points carried forward under the new point system. The math is simple: members earn 5 points per $1, and 500 points equal a $1 reward, so the base program returns about 1% in points.

Does Old Navy publish promo codes?
Yes, on its own site: a “Coupons & Promo Codes” page and a “Deals” page under customer service. Neither showed a code for the main event; the sitewide 40% off applied automatically, and rewards free shipping was marked “NO COUPON CODE REQUIRED.” The one code we found, EXTRA, sat in a banner on another customer service page while a different sale ran sitewide, so treat it as unverified until it works in your cart. If a code appears nowhere on oldnavy.gap.com, be skeptical; see our guide to spotting fake coupon sites.
Navyist Rewards is now Encore: how the points work
Encore has three tiers, all shared across Gap Inc.’s four brands:
- Core: free to join. 5 points per $1 at the family of brands.
- Premier: unlocked at $350 or more in qualifying purchases per year. Same 5 points per $1, with better shipping, longer returns and a yearly sale day.
- All-Access: every Gap Inc. credit cardmember is enrolled automatically. 25 points per $1 at the family of brands when paying with the card.
Redemption, from the program terms: “500 points = $1” in rewards. Up to 1 million points ($2,000) can be used in one transaction. Points cannot be used on Clearance Center purchases, gift cards, taxes, shipping or gift wrap. Points expire if your account has no earning or redeeming activity for 12 months.
Example math (our calculation from the published rates):
- A Core member spends $100 at Old Navy: 500 points, worth $1. That is a 1% return.
- A cardmember spends $100 with the card: 2,500 points, worth $5. That is a 5% return.
- To build a $10 reward, a Core member spends $1,000; a cardmember paying with the card spends $200.
One detail matters for the math: the terms say no points are earned on “the amount of any coupon or discount.” In a 40% off sale, a $100 cart that rings up at $60 earns points on $60, not $100.
Super Cash: Old Navy’s earn-then-redeem coupon
Super Cash is still a first-party Old Navy program, and Old Navy’s page says all customers can now earn and redeem it; Encore membership is no longer required. It works in two windows:
- Earn: spend $25 or more during an earn period and you get one universal Super Cash coupon per qualifying purchase. In stores it comes with the transaction; online, the code arrives by email within about 24 hours.
- Redeem: during the later redeem period, the coupon’s value depends on what you spend then: $20 off $50 to $99.99, $40 off $100 to $149.99, and $60 off $150 or more. One coupon per transaction, $60 maximum.
Example math: a $50.00 redeem cart with $20 off is a 40% discount. A $149.99 cart gets only $40 off (about 27%), so adding one more item to cross $150 moves you to $60 off. If you spend less than the full tier, the rest of the coupon’s value is forfeited.
The big catch: Super Cash “cannot be redeemed with any other coupons or promotions,” though Encore members can still apply points. It does not work at other Gap Inc. brands or the Clearance Center, gift cards do not count toward minimums, and lost codes are not replaced.
The Old Navy credit card (Encore card)
Gap Inc.’s cards are issued with Barclays, and in Encore they come in two forms: a store card and a Mastercard. Both put you in the All-Access tier. Earning, per the program terms and FAQ:
- 25 points per $1 at Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta (a 5% return at 500 points per $1).
- Mastercard only: 15 points per $1 at other eligible clothing stores (about 3%), and 5 points per $1 elsewhere Mastercard is accepted (about 1%). Wholesale clubs, Amazon, Target and Walmart are excluded from the apparel rate.
Cardmember extras: free standard shipping at $35, returns up to 60 days, a yearly 20% sale day, and occasional cardmember pricing like the “50% Off Cardmembers” offer we saw.
New account discount: Old Navy’s Encore page advertises an extra 30% off your first purchase with a new Encore credit card, but the Deals page fine print says 20% and still names the older Navyist cards. The fine print rules: credit approval required, the new card must be the only payment, the code expires 14 days after the account opens, and it is “not valid in our Clearance Center.” Confirm the percentage on the application screen. A card is a credit decision, not a coupon; carrying a balance can erase a 5% points return quickly.
Create Your Own Sale Day
Premier members get 15% off once a year; All-Access members get 20% (paying with the card). You pick the day, online or in store, and it arrives as its own code. Example: on a $200 full-price order, 15% saves $30 and 20% saves $40.
Shipping and returns
- Shipping: signed-in rewards members get free shipping at $50, figured after discounts and before tax. Cardmembers get free standard shipping at $35 when paying with the card, but not through Apple Pay, Google Pay or other digital wallets.
- Returns: the Encore terms list 30 days with a receipt as standard, up to 45 days for Premier and up to 60 days for All-Access, if you are signed in online or give your phone number in store. Returns after 30 days get a Merchandise Return Card. Encore Market redemptions are final sale.
How to save at Old Navy without a coupon
- Join Encore before checkout. Free, with $50 free shipping and 1% back in points.
- Time big orders to sitewide events. Our deal days calendar and Black Friday guide show when retail sales cluster.
- Use Super Cash cycles. Buying during an earn period returns a coupon worth $20 to $60 later.
- Shop Deals and Clearance. Old Navy lists deals “from $6” with no code; points cannot be redeemed in the Clearance Center.
- Check group discounts elsewhere. We found no first-party Old Navy student, teacher or military discount; our teacher, student and military lists cover retailers that publish one.
Stacking order
Here is what Old Navy’s own terms actually say about combining:
- Sitewide sale first. Automatic sale prices apply before anything else; you do not need a code.
- Then one coupon, if allowed. Super Cash cannot be used with any other coupon or promotion. The new-card first purchase discount can be combined with “one other offer” in a single transaction but not with Family of Brands discounts, or with FitPro, Brand Ambassador, student or employee discounts.
- Then points. Encore members can apply reward points even on a Super Cash purchase.
- Pay with the card last if you have it, to earn 25 points per $1 on the discounted total.
Example (our calculation, assuming a cart where the offers apply): a cardmember during a Super Cash redeem period buys $160 of full-price items. Super Cash takes $60 off, leaving $100. Applying 2,500 points ($5) leaves $95. Paying with the card earns 25 points per $1 on the amount paid, about 2,375 points, worth roughly $4.75 toward a later order. For the general logic of layering offers, see how to stack coupons, cashback and rewards.
What we could not verify
- Whether Old Navy allows only one promo code per order as a general rule. We found offer-specific limits (Super Cash, the new-card discount) but no sitewide statement.
- Whether code EXTRA is still active; we saw it in one customer service banner while a different sitewide sale was running.
- Old Navy’s price adjustment policy. The customer service page titled “Price adjustments” did not return readable policy text to us.
- Shipping fees on orders below the free shipping threshold. Old Navy’s everyday shipping page lists fees but still uses an older tier name, so we did not rely on it.
- Whether the new-card first purchase discount is currently 30% or 20%; Old Navy’s pages disagree.
- The exclusions on the 40% off event; the banner only says “Exclusions apply.”
- Upcoming Super Cash earn and redeem dates.
- Whether Create Your Own Sale Day stacks with sitewide sales.
